Alex Panagiotidis – Chief Operating Officer

Alex has seven years of financial markets and operations experience. Alex joined Aksia at its inception in October 2006 and currently serves as the COO. Alex is responsible for the overall management of Aksia’s business operations. He ensures that business operations are efficient and effective and is integral to the development of Aksia’s operating systems.

Prior to Aksia, Alex was an analyst in the Hedge Fund Investment Group at Credit Suisse. Throughout his career, Alex has been involved in a broad range of investments and operations.

During the years 1999 and 2000, Alex interned for Excel Maritime Carriers (NYSE: EXM) as an operations associate and for Optima Shipbrokers S/A as a chartering assistant. He was later involved in the formation of Beltest Shipping Company Ltd. (www.beltest.com), exposing him to a variety of investments from hedge funds to stakes of public companies.

Alex graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2005 with a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School.
