Hedge fund investment due diligence examines an individual hedge fund and its manager from a number of different perspectives including the investment team and its history as well as the fund's strategy and risks. Hedge fund operational due diligence examines the operational and business structure of a hedge fund and its manager. The Operational Due Diligence Team notes any areas of concern with regard to operational sufficiency, NAV determination, organizational processes, conflicts of interest, or of a regulatory nature. Hedge funds are given a rating in each of nine different categories of investment and operational due diligence. Funds of hedge funds investment due diligence examines a manager’s resources, due diligence capabilities, and product construction. Funds of hedge funds also undergo operational due diligence.
